Michael Alder is the owner and senior trial attorney of AlderLaw, a Los Angeles-area plaintiffs’ firm based in Sherman Oaks, California. He represents people in personal injury, wrongful death, employment and business tort litigation, and the firm also works on behalf of municipalities in ground and water contamination cases.

Alder earned both his undergraduate and law degrees at Louisiana State University and is licensed in California and Louisiana. In 2011 he obtained a $39.4 million verdict in Ventura County, a $29.1 million personal injury verdict in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, and a $33 million breach-of-contract award with punitive damages in Los Angeles County, making him the first lawyer in the country with three verdicts on VerdictSearch’s Top 100 list in a single year.

Alder was the 2012 president of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, which also named him its Trial Lawyer of the Year, and California Lawyer gave him a Clay Award as its 2014 personal injury attorney of the year. He founded Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Charities and the American Museum of Tort Law, sits on the board of the Inner-City Law Center and created the Warrior Fund, which offers case funding to newer lawyers taking on large corporations and insurers.
