Being a personal injury lawyer gives me the opportunity to tell stories in the same way that I did when I worked behind the camera.

Sean Olson is the founder of Olson Personal Injury Lawyers, a firm serving injured people in Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming, with an office in Golden, Colorado. His practice centers on personal injury, medical malpractice and nursing home abuse cases.

Before law school, Olson worked as a photojournalist and won an Emmy award. He grew up in a farming town in Wisconsin, earned a journalism and mass communication degree from Drake University in 1995 and received his law degree in 2006 from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, graduating in the top 1% of his class. He has returned to the school as an adjunct professor teaching trial advocacy. He is admitted in Colorado and Wyoming, both since 2006, and in New Mexico since 2024, along with federal courts in Colorado and Wyoming and the Tenth Circuit.

Results listed on his bio include $9 million in a wrongful death case, $4.5 million for a client hurt by a drunk driver and $1.6 million in a medical malpractice case. Super Lawyers has recognized him every year since 2012, and he wrote the book “Results Matter” about the personal injury process. He lives in the Colorado foothills with his wife and two children.
