Babar Waheed is a founding partner at Dan Caplis Law in Denver, Colorado, where he represents individuals and families in catastrophic injury, brain injury and wrongful death cases, including those involving drunk and drugged drivers.
Waheed won his first district court jury trial during his first week after the Colorado Supreme Court swore him in to practice law. He has handled cases across Colorado, and the firm’s site says he is the first attorney to successfully hold a corporation responsible for a felonious killing committed by its driver. He has also succeeded in the Colorado appellate courts, reversing a trial court decision that had denied punitive damages.
Waheed, with Dan Caplis and John Kellner, secured a $205 million jury verdict in a wrongful death case against an amusement park. With Caplis, he represented a brother and sister in a trucking crash case that produced a verdict the firm describes as the largest trucking verdict in Colorado history, exceeding $25 million.
Super Lawyers named Waheed a Colorado Rising Star in 2022 and a Colorado Super Lawyer in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
