John Kellner is a trial lawyer and managing partner at Dan Caplis Law in Greenwood Village, Colorado, where he represents people seriously injured or families who have lost a loved one because of someone else’s conduct.
Before entering private practice, Kellner served as the elected district attorney for Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties. As a prosecutor, he tried several of Colorado’s cold cases and was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for holding reckless drivers accountable.
Kellner is a U.S. Marine Corps and Afghanistan War veteran who served on active duty as a trial counsel, operational law attorney and special assistant U.S. attorney. He continues to serve as a lieutenant colonel in the Marine Corps Reserves. He graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder School of Law.
At Dan Caplis Law, Kellner worked with Dan Caplis and Babar Waheed on a wrongful death case that ended in a $205 million jury verdict against an amusement park that had offered $750,000 to settle after mediation.
