"It’s all about our clients. Clients want a successful firm, but they also want to know that we care."

Josh Koskoff is a Connecticut trial lawyer at Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder PC in Bridgeport, where he represents the third generation of the Koskoff family at the firm. His practice covers medical malpractice and personal injury, and he has also handled cases with national implications.

Koskoff won a $73 million settlement for nine families of victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting against Remington Arms, the maker of the rifle used in the attack. The firm says the amount was the entire insurance available from the bankrupt company. He and partners Chris Mattei and Alinor Sterling later obtained a verdict of almost $1.5 billion for Sandy Hook families against Alex Jones, which the firm describes as the largest defamation verdict in American history. He was named Public Justice’s Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2023.

His Connecticut medical malpractice results include $25 million for a young woman who suffered a foot amputation after a delayed diagnosis, a $22.5 million wrongful death verdict for a widow and a $12 million Danbury record verdict. In 2019 he filed a lawsuit against Harvard University for a Connecticut descendant of an enslaved father and daughter, and he represents 80 women in a drug diversion case against Yale University.

Koskoff was admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1994 and to the U.S. Supreme Court bar in 2019. He studied at Syracuse University and Suffolk University Law School. He is a fellow of the Inner Circle of Advocates, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers.
