Joseph R. Grippe is a partner at Bartlett & Grippe, LLC in Cheshire, Connecticut. A civil trial lawyer for about 15 years, he represents people who have suffered catastrophic injuries and families who have lost someone in car, motorcycle and workplace accidents or through medical malpractice.
Grippe also has extensive experience defending major insurance companies and their insureds at trial, and he has trained claims adjusters on Connecticut litigation. That work on both sides gives him insight into how each side builds and values a case.
Raised in Frankfort, New York, Grippe earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University at Albany and graduated cum laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2006, where he received an academic achievement award in trial practice. He joined Ouellette, Deganis & Gallagher, LLC as an associate, became a partner in 2014 when the firm added his name, and joined with Frank Bartlett to form Bartlett & Grippe in 2022. He is admitted in Connecticut and New York, was named a 2016 New Leader in the Law by the Connecticut Law Tribune and was selected for The Best Lawyers in America beginning in 2023.
