Brian Barr is president of Levin Papantonio in Pensacola, Florida. He handles pharmaceutical, environmental, mass tort and personal injury litigation nationwide and has been appointed to leadership roles in several of the country’s largest multidistrict litigations.

In the 3M Combat Arms Earplug litigation (MDL 2885) in the Northern District of Florida, he serves as co-liaison counsel and on the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee, and he was trial counsel in the first bellwether trial, which produced a verdict of more than $7 million for three plaintiffs. As court-appointed co-lead counsel in the Xarelto products liability MDL, he tried three bellwether cases and helped negotiate a $750 million settlement covering more than 20,000 claims. He also served on the Plaintiffs’ Executive and Steering committees and as class counsel in the BP Deepwater Horizon MDL, and as trial counsel in Phase 2 of that litigation’s limitation and liability trial.

Barr joined the firm in 2001 after graduating magna cum laude from Florida State University College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Florida State University Law Review. He holds a history degree from Baylor University. In 2008 he was part of the trial team that won a $390 million verdict for residents near a DuPont smelter in Spelter, West Virginia, work that made the team a Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year finalist. He lectures on mass tort litigation and is admitted in all Florida state courts and the Northern, Middle and Southern districts of Florida.
