    C. Steven Yerrid, known as Steve Yerrid, is a Tampa, Florida, trial lawyer at The Yerrid Law Firm, P.A. who has tried cases for more than 45 years. According to the firm, he has obtained more than 300 verdicts and settlements of $1 million or more for individuals and families of people injured or killed by the wrongdoing of others.

    His results include a $217 million jury verdict described by the firm as the largest medical malpractice award in Florida history and a $330 million wrongful death verdict in 2009. He also obtained a $27.5 million settlement for the City of Tampa from BP after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and he served as Special Counsel to then-Governor Charlie Crist on the disaster in 2010.

    Yerrid was the youngest lawyer appointed to the 11-member group of private lawyers that brought Florida’s lawsuit against the tobacco industry in the 1990s. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, where he later served as a visiting adjunct professor, and has taught as an adjunct professor at Stetson Law School. He is a lifetime member of the Inner Circle of Advocates and was inducted into the National Trial Lawyers Hall of Fame in 2016.
