    Brian J. McKeen is the founding and managing partner of McKeen & Associates, PC, a Detroit, Michigan law firm that represents plaintiffs in medical malpractice, birth trauma, drug product liability, catastrophic spinal cord injury and other personal injury cases. He began practicing law in 1982 and has tried cases throughout the United States.

    According to his firm bio, McKeen & Associates has produced the year’s top verdict in Michigan four times since 2001, including a $55 million medical malpractice verdict in 2001 that the firm describes as the largest on record in the state. McKeen sits on the executive boards of the Michigan Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. He previously chaired the AAJ Professional Negligence Section, the Medical Negligence Exchange Group and the Birth Trauma Litigation Group.

    He is a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates and has been selected to Michigan Super Lawyers every year from 2006 through 2025, including the Top 10 list from 2017 through 2025. McKeen earned a B.S. from Central Michigan University in 1978 and a J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1982. He is admitted to practice in Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
