    Grant L. Davis is a trial lawyer with Davis, Bethune & Jones in Kansas City, Missouri, representing people harmed by negligent or intentional acts, including families of victims of defective products, train and plane accidents, tractor-trailer crashes and medical negligence.

    Davis met Scott S. Bethune and Thomas C. Jones in law school, and the three worked together for many years before establishing the firm in 2001. His site biography describes him as best known for winning large jury verdicts, which it says has led defendants to offer larger settlements before trial.

    Verdicts and settlements credited to Davis include a $160 million verdict in Alcorn v. U.P. in 1999, a $2.2 billion verdict in Hayes v. Courtney in 2002, a $48 million verdict in Abengoa v. Chicago Title in 2011 and a $750 million settlement in In re Genetically Modified Rice in 2012. The firm has also represented farmers in disputes with large agricultural companies, including Bayer Crop Science and Archer-Daniels-Midland Company.

    Davis served as president of the Missouri Trial Lawyers Association in 2008 and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Inner Circle of Advocates. He has served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.
