Anne E. Joynt is a partner at Lipsitz, Ponterio & Comerford, LLC in Buffalo, New York. Her practice centers on children harmed by lead poisoning, and she also handles asbestos exposure, motor vehicle, construction accident and defective product cases, as well as claims by adults who were abused as children.

Joynt joined the firm directly after law school in 2005 and has remained there for her entire career. In 2014 she was part of the trial team that won what is believed to be the first jury verdict for a lead-poisoned plaintiff in Erie County. In 2022, with colleague John Comerford, she obtained a judgment of nearly $5 million against Lloyd’s after a bench trial, enforcing an earlier asbestos jury verdict the insurer had refused to pay. She also argues motions and appeals.

She earned her law degree from SUNY Buffalo Law School, where she was editor-in-chief of the Buffalo Human Rights Law Review, and a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish, magna cum laude, from SUNY Geneseo. She is proficient in Spanish. Joynt is a past president of the Western New York Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York and of the University at Buffalo School of Law Alumni Association, and has taught trial advocacy at the law school.
