Matt Arnold is managing member of Arnold & Smith, PLLC in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a North Carolina board-certified family law specialist. Alongside divorce, custody, support and property division matters, he handles personal injury and car accident cases arising from auto wrecks, motorcycle crashes and slip-and-fall incidents, as well as business disputes.
A Charlotte native, Arnold played four years of varsity basketball on scholarship at Belmont Abbey College, graduating cum laude in 2000 with a psychology degree. He attended the University of North Carolina School of Law on a full academic scholarship, earning his J.D. in 2003, and tried his first case as a supervised third-year student through the school’s civil legal assistance clinic. He began his career in insurance defense and later handled mortgage fraud and business litigation, experience the firm says informs how he evaluates injury claims.
He is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, and belongs to North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the Justice William Bobbitt Inn of Court.
