Every case is trial work. The best settlements happen when the defense knows we are fully prepared to pick a jury.

Chris Hammons is managing partner and co-founder of Laird Hammons Laird in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A trial lawyer with more than 20 years of experience, he handles personal injury, trucking, wrongful death and civil rights cases and prepares each matter as if it will be tried to a jury.

Hammons co-founded the firm in 2009. With co-counsel, he was part of two 2026 federal jury verdicts: $126 million in Gaines v. City of Moore and a unanimous $2 million verdict for the estate of Gregory Neil Davis, who died in jail. He uses focus groups and detailed damages work before mediation or trial, and he mentors younger lawyers and leads firm training on depositions and trials.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from East Central University and his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He is admitted in Oklahoma state courts and in all three federal district courts in the state. Hammons has taught at Trial Lawyers University programs and is presenting two sessions on civil rights trial strategy at TLU Live Huntington Beach 2027.
