    John Eddie Williams Jr. is the founding partner of Williams Hart & Boundas, LLP in Houston, Texas. A trial lawyer board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, he has tried more than 100 cases to verdict and has led litigation teams in large, multi-party disputes across the United States and internationally.

    His work includes product liability and mass tort cases involving pesticides, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, as well as catastrophic injury cases and major plant explosions. He was one of five attorneys retained by the State of Texas in its litigation against the tobacco industry, which resulted in a $17.3 billion recovery. The firm’s site also describes his role in Roundup (glyphosate) litigation, Fen-Phen and Depakote litigation, and current work representing sexual assault victims in claims against rideshare companies.

    Williams graduated first in his class from Baylor University School of Law in 1978, where he was editor-in-chief of the Baylor Law Review. He is a former president of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Houston Trial Lawyers Association and the Houston Trial Lawyers Foundation, and he serves on the American Association for Justice Board of Governors.

    His recognitions include induction into the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame in 2018 and lifetime achievement awards from the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
