    Matt Elwell is a partner at Amaro Law Firm in Houston, Texas, where he represents injured people and families in personal injury matters. His cases include motor vehicle and trucking accidents, work injuries, brain injuries, wrongful death and oil field injuries.

    Elwell is licensed in Texas, including the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western federal districts, and in New Mexico. He was born in Longview, grew up in Greenville and has lived in Houston since 2009.

    Before joining Amaro Law Firm, he spent more than two years as an attorney at a Houston criminal defense firm and worked earlier at a downtown civil firm handling personal injury, Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and other civil litigation matters.

    He graduated cum laude from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and business administration, then graduated from South Texas College of Law in the top quarter of his class. In law school he took part in the moot court and mock trial programs.

    Elwell serves on the board of directors of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association and chairs its golf committee. He has been named to Texas Rising Stars from 2018 to 2025 and to Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America.
