    Matt Flanery is a co-founder of Grant & Flanery Law Firm in Tyler, Texas, where he represents people injured by careless drivers and others in East Texas. He is board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

    Flanery grew up in De Kalb, Texas, earned a bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University and a law degree at Texas Tech University School of Law. At Texas Tech he received jurisprudence awards in torts and trial advocacy. He began his career as an assistant district attorney for Smith County, where he tried more than 20 jury trials in under a year, and then spent six years as senior briefing attorney to U.S. District Judge William M. Steger.

    He joined his law school classmate Darren Grant to form the firm in 2006. Flanery is licensed in Texas, Colorado and Arkansas and lives in Tyler with his wife, Stephanie, and their three children.
